Meta Length Checker
Titles and descriptions that run too long get cut off in search results, often mid-sentence. This checker counts characters as you type and flags anything outside the ranges Google usually displays in full.

Frequently asked questions
What lengths should I aim for?
Titles of 30–60 characters and descriptions of 120–160 characters display fully in most cases.
Is character count the real limit?
Google actually truncates by pixel width, so counts are a guide. Use the SERP Preview tool on this site to see the visual result.
Why do my descriptions get rewritten?
Google often rewrites descriptions it thinks match the query better. A clear, accurate description close to the page content is rewritten least.
